MORE THAN 50 YEARS’ WORTH OF ALUMINIUM KNOW-HOW Selcast Oy was established in 1945 and has since then specialized in the manufacture and marketing of electrical installation accessories and industrial components in aluminium for demanding conditions. Our operations have traditionally focused on the manufacture of installation accessories and components in the form of light cast metal enclosures. We mostly use as raw material recycled aluminium but other aluminium alloys are also used for special needs.

We have continually expanded our product range with new products that are higly competitive in terms of their quality level and technical characteristics. This means that we can offer our customers a highly comprehensive product range in our specialization field.

By applying modern quality concepts and by continually honing our production methods, we seek to develop new total economy solutions in open interaction with our customers. Thanks to our flexible and diversified organisation, we are able to respond quickly to our customers’ special requirements. Indeed, a great many of our customers use Selcast Oy as their supplier because they place their trust in our company’s long experience as a light metal foundry. The first and foremost goal of our personnel, now and in the future, is to offer products that are increasingly versatile and user-friendly.

WE CONTROL THE ENTIRE PRODUCTION PROCESS

The most important success factor for our component manufacturing is a mastery of the entire production process. To accomplish this, we have the necessary personnel, machinery and equipment resources. We design and manufacture tools and dies; we have pressure and die-casting machines; and our full range of final processing procedures covers machining, surface treatment and assembly as well as other tasks. In addition, we have built up a versatile and reliable network of suppliers who work with us in a spirit of constructive give-and-take.

WELL-KNOWN CUSTOMERS USE OUR PRODUCTS IN DEMANDING ENVIRONMENTS

Many of Finland’s largest and best-known industrial companies use our products in conditions that are notably hard on electrical installations and accessories. We consider this a vote of confidence in our know-how and in the reliability of our products. Our components and accessories are making a name for themselves where it is hot, cold or dusty, or where the risk of physical damage and explosions is considerable. Our longstanding customers include internationally known companies such as ABB, Ahlsell, Katko, KCI Konecranes, Kone Elevators, Nordisk Solar, Teleste and Vaisala.

SPECIALIZED PRODUCTS FOR SHIPBUILDING NEEDS

For many of our products, we have obtained type approvals from Det Norske Veritas, the Register of Shipping, and the Germanischer Lloyd. We supply these special products in our marine programme to customers such as STX Finland. We also supply products to German companies such as Meyer Werft.
